Lincoln City Siltez Bay Clamming
Purple Varnish Clam Limit, Siltez Bay
A great place with easy access for purple varnish clams is just south of Lincoln City. Cross the last bridge and a mile down the road, just before the Bay House Restaurant there is parking on the right side of the road, with walk-on-bay access. Clamming here is very good, even without an extremely low tide.

In recent years the population of purple varnish clams has risen to a very abundant level. The ground is sandy and only a shovel is needed. If you are new to bay clamming, Lincoln City is a very good place to start, purple varnish clams seem to be everywhere. There is also crabbing at the bay, both by boat and on the shore. Probably the most popular spot is just in the back of Mo’s, Lincoln City Restaurant . There is a nice little beach there at the bar of Siletz Bay. Crabbing with a fishing pole rigged with a crab catcher has even been featured on TV.
